The bike had a flat tire, a free hub that wasn't working and needed a general service
How was it repaired?
I took it to a bike repair charity that help to train people up and up-cycle old bikes, they serviced the bike and identified all the work that needed to be done.
Why was it repaired?
Although the repair cost what I paid for the bike, it was definitely worth it and the bike mechanic said that the bike should be great for the next 5 to 10 years, so it was an investment worth making. I bought the bike second hand so I knew it would need work eventually.
Why is repair important?
For an item like this there would be no point trying to buy another as I would not get something as high quality for the same price. Maintaining the bike and repairing it means that it is safe and a pleasure to ride and should be working for years to come.
