One of the internal wires that connects the pickups of the bass to the jack output had come off and the bass stopped working.
First I stripped the end of the wire. Using a soldering iron, I removed the old solder before I reattached the wire to the terminal on the jack with fresh solder
I had to repair the object as I was mid way through playing a gig in Brighton when the bass broke and I wasn't able to borrow any other bands bass guitars as they all played double bass. The rest of the band played some acoustic tracks while I was repairing the bass live on stage!
Maintaining what you own is really important and means we can get the most out of every object before it ends up in the bin. I buy all my instruments and equipment second hand as it's cheaper and then do everything I can to keep them working well
