By using electrical tape to hold it back in place.
I thought it might be unsafe to have parts fully exposed. Also, I did not want to buy a new geyser, as it was functioning properly.
Lesser resources are consumed over longer periods of time, there is less stress on landfills, and it also costs less to repair an item than purchase a new one.
