The wooden slabs were broken.

We needed to replace them with new ones.

Only two wooden slabs were broken, and two had cracks. We repaired it because buying a new bed just for this would have cost a lot.

It's important to repair as it avoids discarding to reduce the generation of waste and/or rubbish.
