Fostering regenerative material cultures in the city through experimentation, play, and action, The Bristol Repair Coalition is an alliance of Bristol-based academics, charities, council members, commercial businesses, social enterprises, craft and artisan practitioners, and independent bodies, all working together to enhance the city’s cultures of repair, care, and maintenance.
Formed in March 2024 by Repair Acts, the Coalition aims to build capacities to reimagine material pathways throughout the city by expanding existing offerings and supporting emerging communities of professional, commercial, and volunteer repairers.
From Sept 2024 the Coalition will be meeting monthly programme with the first 3-4 months focusing on co-producing the Coalition’s actions for the coming year (2025). Working through the lens of care and repair and in line with the Design Justice Network Principles[1], the Coalition seeks to work in a mindful, collaborative, and creative manner to address the challenges, relating to material repairability.
Do get in touch if you would like to learn more about the Bristol Repair Coalitions plans or who you can set one up in your area.
