Elena Blanco, Environmental Lawyer, Uni of the West of England

Elena Blanco is an Associate Professor of International Economic Law and the Head of the Environmental Law Research Unit at the Bristol Law School (UWE, Bristol). She holds degrees from the Universities of Madrid, Belgrade and London (SOAS) and has published and worked on different areas of Globalisation and Natural Resources Law, Trade and Environmentally Sustainable Investment Law.

Through her teaching, supervision and research practice she is interested in challenging the pervasive consumerism and predatory neoliberal corporate globalisation status quo, and in foregrounding the periphery, the local, the dissident, the irrational and the ever-changing living and non-living environment.
